SEO Settings of the Website

Info: This article applies to Website Builder purchases made after 14th January 2025. For further assistance, please contact our support team.

Our website editor gives you complete control over your site’s visibility by allowing you to customize SEO settings. You can access these settings under Pages < SEO page settings in the menu. Here, you can add individual page titles, meta descriptions, and page URLs for each menu page, which is essential for attracting both potential visitors and search engines like Google.

Page Title

The page title should accurately reflect the content of the page. If you don’t provide a specific title, Google will default to the menu page name, which may be less descriptive and less engaging for potential visitors. Ideally, the title should be around 60 characters long and should avoid repeating your company name, as Google may automatically add it, leading to redundancy. The page title is also displayed in the browser tab.

Meta Description

The meta description is a concise summary of the page’s content. Its purpose is to give users an idea of what the page offers when they come across it in search results. Think of it as an advertisement for your page.

If you don’t add a specific meta description, Google may pull random text from the page content, or it may show nothing at all, which could discourage users from clicking and potentially affect your search ranking.

The recommended meta description length is 150-160 characters. It should be a clear, grammatically correct sentence or short paragraph, not just a list of keywords. Be sure to include relevant keywords that are tied to the page content and avoid using the same meta description for every page. Each page should have its own unique description.

Page Address

The page address (URL) is the link that leads to a specific page on your website (e.g., www.mywebsite.com/page-address).

Keep in mind that the URL cannot contain special characters like å, ä, or ö, and should not have spaces or capital letters. Stick to lowercase letters (a-z) and numbers (0-9). The page URL should align with the page title to ensure consistency and improve SEO.
