How Long can a Domain Name be Registered for

Introduction

Registering a domain name is the starting point to getting your business setup online and securing your business name for as long as possible is always advisable because you do not have to worry about accidently forgetting to renew the domain name and your website or emails being disrupted. It also is more cost effective to purchase the domain name for longer periods of time.

A lot of the most common domain name extensions such as .com,  .co.uk  and .net can be registered for up to 10 years. This guide will show how to purchase a domain name and choose the registration length too.

Table of Contents

  1. Searching for a domain name
  2. Choosing the registration period for your purchase

Step One

Navigate to our website names.co.uk

Follow the “how to register a domain name” guide here to find the best domain name for you. Once you have chosen the domain name and the perfect extension for you then follow the steps below in the basket summary to choose up to 10 years for your purchase period.

Step Two

On the Basket Summary you will see a list of the domain names you have chosen to purchase and if the domain name extension allows multiple years, you will see a drop-down list with all available registration packages available. If you choose the number of years you would like, the price will then update, and you will be able to proceed to purchase the domain name(s).
