How to Transfer a Domain Name to Namesco

Introduction

There are tools in your Online Control Panel to make transferring a domain name to your Names.co.uk account simple. If you don’t have an account yet, please follow this form here.

This guide will explain how to transfer a domain name to us.

Step One

Navigate to our website names.co.uk

Once on the website, choose “Log in” found on the top right-hand side of the page and log into your Online Control Panel. If you need assistance with this, please follow this guide.

Step Two

Once you have successfully logged into your Online Control Panel, navigate to the “Services” tab and from the drop-down menu choose “Domains & Services”.

Step Three

The page that loads will show a list of your domain names (If you currently own any). If you choose “Add Domain” on the top right this will take you to the next step.

Step Four

You will be met with some options, but you will need to look for the section called “Transfer a domain to us” and then click on the blue link saying, “Click here to begin the transfer process”.

Step Five – Transferring a Nominet domain (ending .uk)

To transfer a domain ending .uk chose the option “Click here to transfer .uk domains” and follow the steps outlined on the next stage and start the transfer.

Step Six – Transferring a .com .net .org .biz .info .mobi or .uk

To transfer a domain ending .com .net .org  .biz .info .mobi or .us chose the option “Click here to transfer .com .net .org .biz .info .mobi .us domains” and follow the steps outlined on the next stage and start the transfer.

Step Seven – Transferring a new gTLD to us

To transfer a new gTLD chose the option “Click here to transfer New gTLD domains” and follow the steps outlined on the next stage and start the transfer.

Step Eight

To transfer a new gTLD chose the option “Click here to transfer .ie domains” and follow the steps outlined on the next stage and start the transfer.

Step Nine

For all domain transfers not catered for by the options above, please either raise a transfer’s enquiry or contact our Domain Transfers team on 0345 363 3636.
